Caroline
Business Start-Up Advisor
After adjusting to hearing loss, Caroline worked in a call centre to prove it wasn't a barrier. However, she found it discouraging when she couldn't fully assist customers.
In August 2022, she joined Maximus as an employment advisor and discovered her passion for helping self-employed individuals. She expressed this to the Operations Manager in March 2023 and became Nottingham's first self-employment advisor shortly after. While initially working with a small caseload, it quickly expanded to 120 participants. Despite the challenge, Caroline found it incredibly rewarding to support them in achieving their goals and providing encouragement when needed.
Outside of work, Caroline is a proud nerd who enjoys Star Wars, Doctor Who, Marvel, and unicorns. She has a love for technology and gadgets and unwinds by watching true crime documentaries.

Kath led the ESF CFO development fund project, establishing The Straight Six Café in Nottingham, offering Level 1 Hospitality & Catering qualifications and facilitating connections with employers. Recently, she led a team of Employment Coaches at two Restart sites, assisting participants in returning to employment and self-employment.
Outside of work, Kath enjoys walking her dogs, gardening, and watching Harry Potter.
